This book has been organized into sections dealing with various aspects of diachronic corpus linguistics and although it will become swiftly apparent that there are numerous cross-themes, we selected the most salient ones as the organizing principles. Part I sets the scene with two chapters on methodology in dialogue with one another about issues of importance to the corpus linguistics approach, and how to apply corpus linguistics for the best possible results.
